North Ayrshire Tandem Cycling is a friendly, community‑focused cycling group based in Ayrshire. We bring together vision‑impaired riders and sighted pilots to enjoy safe, social and confidence‑building tandem rides across the beautiful landscapes of our region.
We believe cycling should be accessible to everyone — and tandem riding opens the door for people who might otherwise miss out on the joy of being outdoors, active and connected.
We’re not a competitive club — we’re a community. Our rides are relaxed, friendly and designed to be enjoyed at a comfortable pace.
Every ride is planned with safety, support and enjoyment in mind.
If you’re friendly, patient and enjoy being outdoors, you’ll fit right in.
The club was created to give vision‑impaired riders the chance to enjoy cycling in a safe, supported and social environment. Over time, it has grown into a close‑knit community of riders, volunteers and friends who share a love of tandem cycling — and a good café stop.
From local coastal routes to rolling Yorkshire hills, our adventures have become part of our identity. Every ride brings new memories, new friendships and new confidence.
Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Our pilots receive guidance and support to ensure they can ride confidently with a vision‑impaired partner. Rides are planned carefully, communication is clear, and everyone looks out for each other.
We’re proud to be a club where riders feel safe, supported and valued.
If you’d like to get involved — whether as a rider, pilot or volunteer — we’d love to hear from you. Visit our Contact page to get in touch or come along to one of our rides and meet the team.
